|---|---|---|
| What it is | Flashcard sets you make or find, studied in Flashcards, Learn, Test and games, plus study guides, practice tests and podcasts generated from your notes | A study platform: your material becomes one board you check, and flashcards, mock papers, audio lectures and viva questions are written from it |
| Plans | A free account, and paid Quizlet Plus and Quizlet Plus Unlimited plans, monthly or yearly | Free plan. Standard A$29 a month or A$249 a year; Extended A$49 a month or A$419 a year (plans) |
| On the free plan | Flashcards, practice questions, interactive diagrams and activities; Learn for a limited number of rounds per set, one test per set in Test, and study guides and practice tests with limited access | Unlimited boards and notes; 20 generated cards, one exam, one lecture, one recorded viva, three views, three sorts, five AI imports and ten image searches; 200 MB of images (in full) |
| Ready-made material | Millions of flashcard sets made by other Quizlet users | No public library: you work from your own notes, or from a subject someone shares with you |
| From your notes | Study guides: upload or paste course materials for an outline and a flashcard set. Audio Notes does the same from a lecture recording, and Smart Assist turns notes into draft cards | Your material becomes one board that you check first; the cards, papers, lectures and viva stations are written from it |
| Spaced repetition | In Flashcards, on the Quizlet website: you rate each card Repeat, Hard, Okay or Easy | FSRS, on four grades, on the web and in the iPhone app |
| Tests | Test quizzes you on a set. Practice Tests are written by AI from notes or sets, multiple-choice or written, with a time limit if you want one | Papers of 5 to 20 short-answer or multiple-choice questions, timed if you want. Written answers are marked against a key written from your board, with the points you did not make |
| Audio | Podcasts: a conversation between hosts, generated from your materials | Lectures: a script written from your board and read aloud, with a transcript that highlights each word as it is spoken and jumps to any word you click |
| Apps | Website, iOS and Android | Web, Mac (the web app in its own window), and iPhone, in beta on TestFlight. No Android app yet |
Use Quizlet if#
- Someone has already made a set for what you are studying, or your class uses Quizlet classes to share sets.
- You want games: Match, Blast and Blocks, and Quizlet Live for a whole class.
- You want step-by-step textbook solutions.
- You need an Android app.
Where MySummaries differs#
- Your notes, checked first. What you bring in becomes sections on a board. Nothing the AI proposes lands until you tick it, and every section has a Check button that looks for anything factually wrong or out of date.
- Cards on a schedule. Every grade books the card's next review with FSRS, for one board, one subject or everything due, and what you lose marks on in a paper or a viva is written up as new cards, one tap each to add.
- Written answers, marked against your notes. A paper's written answers are marked for content against a key written from your board, question by question, with the points you did not make.
- An examiner you answer out loud. A viva station asks one question. You answer aloud, and an examiner set up for what you are studying marks the answer criterion by criterion and reads the feedback back to you.
- Lectures you can read along with. The script is written from your board and nothing else, and every word of the transcript jumps the audio to it.
