The Mac app

MySummaries in its own window on a Mac, and what it adds to the web workspace.

MySummaries for Mac is the web workspace in its own window. It loads the same portal you use in a browser, so every feature, board and setting is the same, and it is always the current version — there is nothing to update unless the app itself changes.

Download it from mysummaries.app, open the disk image and drag MySummaries into Applications. It needs macOS 12 or later and runs on Apple silicon and Intel. Sign in with the same account you use on the web.

What it adds#

  • Send to MySummaries. Select text, a link or files in any app and choose Send to MySummaries from that app's Services menu. It lands in the open board's Sources; with no board open, you pick one.
  • Drop on the dock icon. Drop a PDF, Word document, picture or recording on the dock icon, or use File → Send File, and it goes to Sources the same way.
  • Quick note. Press ⌃⌥N anywhere to open a small note window. ⌘Return sends it to the open board's Sources; Esc closes it.
  • Cards due on the dock. The dock icon shows how many cards are due. When none are due, you get one notification at the moment the next one is.
  • The timer in the menu bar. While a pomodoro block runs, its countdown shows in the menu bar.
  • Handoff from the iPhone. The page you are on in the iPhone app can be picked up on the Mac.

On macOS 26, two more things work on the Mac itself:

  • A recording dropped on the window is transcribed on your Mac and arrives as text.
  • Explain on a highlight still answers with no network, using Apple's on-device model where Apple Intelligence is available.

Plans#

The Mac window shows no plans, top-ups or upgrade buttons. Your plan is the same as on the web; to change it, sign in at portal.mysummaries.app in a browser. See Plans and usage.
