Pomodoro timer

The study timer in the top-right corner, what it does to the app, and where its settings live.

The clock in the top-right corner, beside search and the notification bell, is a pomodoro timer: a focus block, a short break, and a longer break after every fourth focus block. Click it for the controls.

Pick 25 · 5 or 50 · 10, or set your own minutes for all three phases. Changing the minutes restarts the current block at the new length.

What it does to the app#

While it runs, every bar in the app turns indigo while you focus and green on a break, and a thin frame of the same colour edges the window. The countdown also shows in the browser tab's title (in the Mac app, in the menu bar), and a chime sounds when a block ends.

Moving between boards, backgrounding the tab or reloading loses no time. Pause, skip to the next phase and reset are in the widget's menu.

Where the settings live#

Your durations are saved to your account, so every browser you sign in on starts from the same numbers. A running block is not: it stays on the browser that started it. The iPhone app has no timer.

On a narrow window the widget is hidden, but the timer keeps running and the coloured frame still shows the phase.
